Painted on the brick

The old wall signs had one job.

Look up at the brick on South Main Street and you can still read the faded paint: groceries, hardware. Those signs told anyone walking past what was for sale inside. A website does that same job now, for the neighbor who finds you on a phone instead of from the sidewalk. We make that sign clear, quick and easy to act on, then help it show up where Waxhaw is searching. The website design page covers what goes into a build.

Along the tracks

A town that grew up around a rail line.

Waxhaw put its railroad right down the middle of downtown, with a row of stores facing it from each side. Walk the block from Andrew Jackson's birth year to the latest census.

  1. 1767

    Born in the Waxhaws

Andrew Jackson is born near here, so close to the state line that the two Carolinas still disagree over the exact spot.

  2. 1888

    Rails through the middle

The railroad arrives and its track is laid right down the center of town, putting Atlanta's markets within reach.

  3. 1889

  7. 1991

    Twice the town

The town ledger

A lot of new neighbors, and they search first.

Waxhaw more than doubled between 2010 and 2020, with new homes going up along NC 75 and Providence Road. Thousands of households arrived without ever having walked Main Street, and many are young families: the median age is 36.4 and well over half of households have kids. When they need a dentist, a plumber or a birthday cake, they pick up a phone and search.

The town's north edge also sits just four and a half miles from Charlotte's city limit. So a Waxhaw search can fill up with companies from much bigger markets. Local SEO and a well-kept Google listing are how a hometown business holds its ground.

How an order runs

Four tags from hello to open.

  1. Step 1

    Talk it over

A phone call about what you sell, who buys it and what your current site is or isn't doing for you. No charge and no pitch deck.

  2. Step 2

    A written quote

One fixed number on paper before any work begins. Half of it gets the project on the calendar.

  3. Step 3

    Build and review

Roger writes the words, sets the design and codes each page. The other half is due when the finished site lands with you for review.

  4. Step 4

    Doors open

The site goes live on your domain, in your name. A care plan keeps it quick and current from there.

In the shop window

Recent work, labeled truthfully.

There is no Waxhaw project in the window yet, so we won't pretend otherwise. Each one shows where that client actually does business. More on each in the shop window.

Asked at the counter

Common questions.

Is there an office in Waxhaw?

No. The office is in Mooresville, about 59 miles up the road, and we would rather say so than rent a mailbox on Main Street. Most projects run start to finish over the phone, by email and on a shared screen. When sitting down together would really help, Roger makes the drive.

What does a website cost?

It depends on how many pages you need, what the site has to do, who is writing the words and how soon you need it. You get one fixed price in writing before anything starts. The quotes page explains how that number is reached.

Is it built on WordPress or Wix?

Neither. Every page is written in plain code for your business alone, which keeps it quick on a phone and leaves nothing for a stranger to log into.

Who owns the finished site?

You do. The domain, the words, the photos and the code are all in your name. We host it and look after it, but it belongs to your business.
